GRAVITY 006 On Mcast September 06 2009 – Part2 K.A.N

On this second part of GRAVITY, I have the honor and pleasure to present a new set of  K.A.N , a  talented DJ/producer from mauritus.

Born on an island underexposed to electronic music, Kan firstly discovered
this genre through a compilation brought by a foreign cousin, with trance
tracks like BBE – 7 days or 1 week or Jaydee – Plastic dreams.
What amazed him was the abstracted form of this kind of music, where sounds
took form of pictures. No lyrics was necessary to feel the sounds,
as if it was a universal language.
After exploring many genre such as Rock, Hip Hop, Reggae, House, Uplifting trance,
Exploration shows that music is untouchable and knows no frontiers.
Kan keeps defining what he is truly looking for in music.
He does into the direction of the underground sounds, where the beats have
no ranking and place for experimentation.
He is already sure that he has apetite for groovy beats
and ethereal atmospheres to create magical and emotional landscapes.
He goes even deeper in the music after meeting his best friend Kevin O’keeffe
who exposes him to other sounds and also music production. Again, it is another step
towards his true sound: strong dark progressive beats, tribal percussions,
fierce techno grooves and psychedelic effects.
Tired of hearing music and seeing graphics that are not of his taste, Kan
decides to go forward and share his vision to others. He begins to create graphics
for music related event and to go deeper into the sounds through production
and creates a show called Phobiq, which is the darker side of the download platform
Beattunes.com where are presented mixes from inspired artists who also want to
share their trip for emotional sound.
It can be through a computer screen, a pair of speakers or a club’s dancefloor,
Kan always wants to share his perceptions of senses to whoever is willing to,
always trying to making his performances as creative and true as possible.
