Welcome to Terminal Velocity Edition 14 – The Magnus Effect.

The Magnus effect is the phenomenon whereby a spinning object flying in a fluid creates a whirlpool of fluid around itself, and experiences a force perpendicular to the line of motion. The overall behaviour is similar to that around an aerofoil (see lift force) with a circulation which is generated by the mechanical rotation, rather than by aerofoil action.

In many ball sports, the Magnus effect is responsible for the curved motion of a spinning ball. The effect also affects spinning missiles, and is used in rotor ships and Flettner aeroplanes.

This episode consists of  a unique and powerful structure, emulating and combining some of the hottest and finest tunes into a massive atmosphere, harder and darker than ever!

Panoulix …Travelling At The Speed Of Thought….

Hello and welcome to the thirteenth edition of Terminal Velocity.

This month I tried to prove an experiment of reversing the mood in the tracklist of a mix.

The experiment goes as follows:

Firstly, each track is carefully selected according to the artist’s mood and feelings. (Nothing strange on this step.)

Secondly, a nice and smooth mixing, is done under a specific mood that matches the selected tracklist. It is virtually impossible for example for anybody to mix easy listening tracks when they are angry or stressed… (Nothing strange on this step too.)

Lastly an attempt is made of reversing the tracklisting from the final mood to the starting mood. In other words, in a tracklist of 10 tracks, track 01 swaps with track 10, track o2 with track 09 and so on… (Well, that’s f**king weird huh?)

And now the results… The mood is driven under the same way, no matter if the journey started from where it should be normally ending!

Think about it for a while. It’s not weird at all! That’s the circle of life and mood. Working pretty much the same on everybody. That’s the meaning of ‘Universalis’…

DJ Duma was born in 1986 in Greece. He was raised on the small island of Thassos
where he also currently lives. He started becoming interested in music at the age of
14 and 2 years ago he started producing music. His genres are Progressive House
and Deep Dark Progressive. He has played music in local clubs. The person who
helps him quite a few times in his productions is a very good friend of his, Rezo, who
always supports him.

For the last part of April’s episode, Stratos DeepDark travels us to Dark Progressive sounds performed under his interesting and special style.

Stratos Deep Dark was born in 1984 in Greece. He started getting interested in music at the age of 14
and started getting addicted to Progressive House at that time as well. In 2000 he moved to Kavala
and got himself into Progressive Melodic House with Deep Dark Tribal And Vocal Elements. The Global Underground Series was a great start for him. In 2003 he Saw The Dj Moshic Live in Kavala and after
that day Moshic has inspired Stratos Deep Dark up until now. Stratos DeepDark has also been inspired by great DJs & Producers
such as Kintar,Rezo,Domased Electronica,Hypnotic Duo,Robert K and many others.He has played music at local Clubs.
The first big support came from Rezo and Robert K which are very good friends of his. He is still serving this style
Of Deep Dark Underground Progressive with extreme diligence.

Welcome to the 11th portion of Terminal Velocity.

…Proxima Centauri (Latin proxima: meaning ‘next to’ or ‘nearest to’)  is a red dwarf star  approximately 4.2 light-years (4.0 × 1013 km) distant in the constellation of Centaurus. It was discovered in 1915 by Robert Innes, the Director of the Union Observatory in South Africa. The star is the nearest star to the Sun.  Its distance to the second and third nearest star, which form the binary star Alpha Centauri, is only 0.21 ly (15,000 ± 700 astronomical units [AU]).

Because of the proximity of this star, its angular diameter can be measured directly, yielding a diameter one-seventh that of the Sun. Proxima Centauri’s mass is about an eighth of the Sun’s, and its average density is about 40 times that of the Sun. Although it has a very low average luminosity, Proxima Centauri is a flare star that undergoes random increases in brightness because of magnetic activity. The star’s magnetic field is created by convection throughout the stellar body, and the resulting flare activity generates a total X-ray emission similar to that produced by the Sun. The mixing of the fuel at Proxima Centauri’s core through convection and the star’s relatively low energy production rate means that it will be a main-sequence star for another four trillion years, or nearly 300 times the current age of the universe…

Without any further introductions, Part2 consists of a massive mix from a superstar DJ and Producer from Germany.

Influenced by early Electronic Music & New Wave & EBM, I always wanted to produce my own tracks. At the age of 16 I bought my first synth, a Roland SH-101 – From then on all my money was invested in musical equipment.

My official musical career started in 1994, with my first CD/ Vinyl release “Nature Love”, on ZYX Records in the prime time of Techno and Trance. Followed by numerous releases on labels like Frankfurt Beat, Kosmo, BMG, Sony Music.

Besides my club tracks, I always needed to do slow & atmospheric tracks for my balance. I took the best 8, mixed them into one 68 min. trip and my first Ambient/ Chill album “Journey Through Harmonia” was ready to be released in 1996 by Kosmo/ BMG Records.

There I met DJ Tom Novy, producing his very first releases including “The Odyssey”, reaching top ten dance music charts all over the world and “Moyonga” the Rave & Cruise /97 hymn.

With the young Max Cavalerra, the strictly-Techno-project “AB 18″ was born in 2000 – hard sounds, straight pulsing beats and no obvious melodies. Live acts & releases on Parasound, Sony S3, Cosmophilia continued.

In 2003 I finished my darkest Ambient album “BEYOND”, bought two groove boxes Electribe MX/ SX and put my home page online, where I released nearly all tracks I’ve ever made. My artistic freedom felt really good, kicked me to produce 100% Morgenroth-Tracks and has led to all the music that followed on from there.

For those who already follow Terminal Velocity show episodes, last year, Shane (a good friend, amazing DJ/Producer and Label Owner of Jetlag Digital Germany) was a part of Episode 5.

It is a great pleasure for us to have the sounds of Shane again on MCast and with a brilliant mix.

Below you can find a fully detailed bio of Shane:

International DJ, producer,  label owner, global player –  it’s all expressions  you  can
hear in everyday’s media. But who are the people behind those kind of expressions?
Someone  like  you  and me,  or  are  they  like  ghosts? Europe  today, USA  tomorrow,
sleeping  on  the  plane  and  waking  up  in  another  time  zone,  on  another  continent,
driven by what defines them as DJs and Producer – by music.

Shane is definitely one of them. He was born in 1976 in Germany, started djing in the
juvenile  age  of  16  and  found  his  homebase  years  later  at  the  event-  and  booking-
agency  “Hertzmusic”  in  Kaiserslautern  early  2002.  There  he  could  be  heard  as
resident  DJ  in  the  Cameo-Club  and  on  the  famous  “Hertzclub”  party-series  from
2002-2007. But that was just the beginning.

After his  first big gigs  in Europe  from 2000 onwards  (like on  Ibiza  | Spain) he  finally
got  the chance  to show his skills on one of  the biggest stages  in  the world. And  that
was to change his life forever:

In 2005 Shane became guest resident DJ of the Viproom Shanghai | China. Together
with  its  resident DJ Dave K he played one week  long  from Monday  to Monday and
could so claim his place in one of the world’s biggest cities, known for its outstanding
nightlife  scene.  In August 2005 an exclusive  live-set,  recorded  in  the Viproom, was
presented by Dave K in his radio show “Misty Shanghai”.

After his guest  residency was  finished  in end 2006, Shane went on a small clubtour
through Shanghais hottest clubs like the Club Feel, the Viproom and the famous dkd.
Through the dkd Shane could establish close ties to the Chinese underground music
scene and become friends with dkd’s resident DJ Patrick Mai.

During his  time  in China, Shane mixed  the 5th
Volume of  the  “Electro Fashion” CD-
compilation  live  in  the  Viproom,  which  then  was  presented  by  Chivas  Regal  and
released  in whole China. On  that CD were  two  of Shane’s  own  tracks,  “Hitomi”,  a
progressive house track, and a progressive breakbeat track called “Zero”. Both tracks
were released in 2007 on the US label “Ocean Drive Records”.

Back home in Germany, Shane’s success remained largely unheard. Progress wasn’t
that fast, electronic music developed to a more minimalistic style and DJs here stuck
on  using  vinyl  and  turntables.  Shane  however  was  playing  digitally,  what
internationally seen has already become a standard – but  it still didn’t seem  to work
out in Germany.

The  Asian  scene  fascinated  Shane.  Since  his  first  trip  to  Shanghai  in  2005,  he
couldn’t get rid of the feeling of never having returned from there. And all those Asian
influences  are  still  present  in  all  his  tracks  and  sets, which  are  affected  by  deep-,
trance-, and progressive-house music.

April  of  2007,  Shane  went  to  yet  another  clubtour  through  some  of  China’s  most
influential cities – Shanghai, Shenzhen and Hong Kong.  In a  total of 7  locations,  like
in  the Absolute House  (Shanghai), which  is  one  of China’s  biggest  clubs,  he  once
more  could  prove  his  special  skills.  In  September  2007  there  was  yet  another
clubtour,  where  Shane  has  been  traveling  and  hitting  up  the  hottest  locations  of
China, Hong Kong and Thailand 4 weeks long.

Back  in Germany, Shane always used  the  time between  touring  for working on new
tracks in his studio. All this hard work finally paid off in the end of 2007, when Shane
got  signed  as  an  artist  on  “Bit  Records  Mexico”,  one  of  the  most  influential
progressive labels worldwide.

Pushed by  the success of 2007, Shane decided  to  found his very own  record-label.
“Jetlag Digital” was born in the spring of 2008 and it was raised with lots of love and
care  to  become  one  of  the  only  international  progressive  house  labels  based  in
Germany.

Just while started to establish his label, Shane went on a 3 week-long clubtour to the
USA, where he played in major clubs in Dallas, Austin and San Antonio. Once more,
the tour has been a complete success.

About 3 months after  the establishment of Jetlag Digital, Shane gained support  from
his long-time friend Carsten (Hyline) from Hannover / Germany, who became Jetlag’s
A&R manager. Jetlag Digital’s total balance of 2008 doesn’t only contain the releases
of 28 EP’s and 3 artist albums, all available in over 70 online-stores around the globe,
but also hitting the ranks of the top 100 progressive house international sales charts a
several times.

Today, Shane works as a producer, joined by international well known artists from the
progressive  house  scene  like  DJ  Taucher,  Michael  &  Levan,  Faskil,  Ariel  Curtis,
Oliver Morgenroth, having his tracks and remixes signed at various labels worldwide.

Be  it Melbourne, be  it Shanghai, Shane’s  tracks and  sets  can be heard monthly at
well  known  international  radio  stations.  He  also  host  own  shows  like  his  show
“Continental Fusion” on “DI.FM” New York, or  together with Hyline “Advanced Views
on Friskyradio” in San Francisco, USA.

Even  though originating  from Germany, Shane managed  to claim his place as a DJ
and Producer  in  the  international music scene and has always been able  to show  in
an impressive way how real global dance music works.

Although every month seems to stress and squeeze my time more and more, I will always try to find some precious moments to devote to the music and to all of you who attend my shows and performances. After all it’s feelings and mind traveling, so why I shouldn’t?

This month Terminal Velocity goes Poland.  I am proud to present you the best artists I know from Poland, CJ Art and Marcooz.

Under “CJ Art” disguise (among others) hides Artur – young guy from capital of Poland. He was connected with radio and music itself since he remember. Especcially nice moment for this young man was summer 2004 when Markus Schulz with his crew has chosen him in “Global DJ Broadcast Contest” for a top finalist with such famous djs as for example: Terje Bakke, James Cosgrove or Rein de Vries. Another highlight in his music life was collaborating with his friend – talented warsawer producer Viscid – and creating together music-project called „Spiral In-Groove”. First tune produced by them titled “Soundctuary” was released on JOOF Deep (JOOF Rec. sublabel) in april 2006 and supported by such big names as: John ‘00’ Fleming, Oliver Prime, Maor Levi, Mike Foyle, Leon Bolier and many others. Same year came next releases: Spiral In-Groove’s remix for 00db – Fused (JOOF Rec.) and CJ Art’s remix for “Posthuman – Mineral” (Progrezo Rec.).
Last years were full of producing and remixing for such great labels as Frisky, Mestiza, Deepssesions, Sudam, Jetlag, Mistique to name just a few. Many of his latest progressive productions were being supported by such big names as DJ Tarkan, Kintar, Moshic, Hassan Rassmy, Sarp Yilmaz, Rasti Tkac, Frangellico, Nicolas Coronel, Bobby Deep, StereoK, dPen, Royal Sapien, Athan, DJ Denko, Hyline, Denis Bozman, Ivan Nikusev, Stiven Rivic, Atrium Sun and many more…

The epilogue of February’s episode is made by an also superb and widely respected artist and friend, Marcooz.

Marek Bartosinski, born on the 10th of May 1989 in Bydgoszcz, Poland. His fascination with electronic music started at an early age, precisely at the turn of 2001 and 2002. This interest grew year by year. He recorded his first set at the end of 2004 and couple of months later he released his first track. In 2008 he received recognition on Ibiza and was nominated in DJ Awards in ‘Best Newcomer’ category. He describes himself as a self-taught person and perfectionist, who all the time develop his skills.

Currently spreading the sound of progressive house in his region by many gigs and radio appearances as well as by his productions. His style oscillates between deep and melodic subgenres of house.

Since this is the first episode for 2010 and since this mix is a New Year’s Eve special live mix, I would like to say a few words about the structure and the atmosphere of it.

It was the “holy city” of Babylonia by approximately 2300 BC, and the seat of the Neo-Babylonian Empire from 612 BC. The Hanging Gardens of Babylon were one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

The form Babylon (or Babylona) is the Greek variant of Akkadian Babilu (bāb-ilû, meaning “Gateway of the god(s)”, translating Sumerian Ka.dingir.ra). In the Hebrew Bible, the name appears as בבל (Babel), interpreted by Book of Genesis 11:9 to mean “confusion” (of languages), from the verb balbal, “to confuse”.

Panos Peros was born in Nicosia, Cyprus on November 27^th, 1980. His passion for music began since early childhood, where he started collecting mixtapes and listening at home. At the age of 15, having formed a strong understanding and appreciation for music he was exposed to his first electronic sounds and he was immediately hooked. Fascinated by the fact that electronic music could combine human creativity and intelligence, musical instruments, hardware and software experimentation in creating music and manipulating sound made him want to be involved in electronic music.

After graduating from high school at the age of 18, he joined the army for 2 years and at the age of 20 he went for studies in the U.S. After completing his studies and returning back to Cyprus at the age of 24, being an avid fan of music and technology, he started creating his own music production and recording studio at home.

In 2005, he came up with Lost In Sound as his music pseudonym which represents his whole concept when it comes to music. In 2007, he joined Facebook where he created a group called Lost In Sound while meeting many world known artists, musicians, producers, djs and remixers along the way. In 2009, he created his own Blogspot called Lost In Sound which features his exclusive sets and artwork made by Stalo Xinari, owner of TheArtConcept. Later on, the same year he joined SoundCloud as Lost In Sound in order to share his music to a broader audience. In addition, he started releasing his exclusive sets for internet radio stations. So far, he had the chance to be featured as a guest artist on radio stations like enSonic.FM, Below Zero Beats, Fluid Radio, and Proclubbin FM.

Haroun’s taste in music developed while he was a kid. Having a diverse upbringing and traveling often, he was exposed to many different cultures and styles of music as well. Language may have been a barrier to understanding the message, but it only helped him appreciate the sounds even more.
Haroun found FriskyRadio in 2005 and fell in love with the variety of sounds he heard on there. He decided to develop his own sound soon after and started dJing to put his feelings and ideas into sound. He broadcasted his first mix on FriskyRadio in 2007 on the well-known “Feelin’ Frisky” sessions. Since then, he has featured as a guest on FriskyRadio in 2008 and 2009, also spinning afterparties, lounges, and house parties when he can.
Haroun continues to develop his sound, which is mainly a blend of deep progressive house and tech-house sounds. For more energetic occasions he likes to share some tech tribal and dark progressive sounds. But he believes music should never be limited to genres and that good music is good music. The second part ofthis episode, consists of a brilliant mix of my friend Shane (Germany), labelowner of Jetlag Digital.

Below you can find a fully detailed bio of Shane:

International DJ, producer,  label owner, global player –  it’s all expressions  you  can
hear in everyday’s media. But who are the people behind those kind of expressions?
Someone  like  you  and me,  or  are  they  like  ghosts? Europe  today, USA  tomorrow,
sleeping  on  the  plane  and  waking  up  in  another  time  zone,  on  another  continent,
driven by what defines them as DJs and Producer – by music.

Shane is definitely one of them. He was born in 1976 in Germany, started djing in the
juvenile  age  of  16  and  found  his  homebase  years  later  at  the  event-  and  booking-
agency  “Hertzmusic”  in  Kaiserslautern  early  2002.  There  he  could  be  heard  as
resident  DJ  in  the  Cameo-Club  and  on  the  famous  “Hertzclub”  party-series  from
2002-2007. But that was just the beginning.

After his  first big gigs  in Europe  from 2000 onwards  (like on  Ibiza  | Spain) he  finally
got  the chance  to show his skills on one of  the biggest stages  in  the world. And  that
was to change his life forever:

In 2005 Shane became guest resident DJ of the Viproom Shanghai | China. Together
with  its  resident DJ Dave K he played one week  long  from Monday  to Monday and
could so claim his place in one of the world’s biggest cities, known for its outstanding
nightlife  scene.  In August 2005 an exclusive  live-set,  recorded  in  the Viproom, was
presented by Dave K in his radio show “Misty Shanghai”.

After his guest  residency was  finished  in end 2006, Shane went on a small clubtour
through Shanghais hottest clubs like the Club Feel, the Viproom and the famous dkd.
Through the dkd Shane could establish close ties to the Chinese underground music
scene and become friends with dkd’s resident DJ Patrick Mai.

During his  time  in China, Shane mixed  the 5th
Volume of  the  “Electro Fashion” CD-
compilation  live  in  the  Viproom,  which  then  was  presented  by  Chivas  Regal  and
released  in whole China. On  that CD were  two  of Shane’s  own  tracks,  “Hitomi”,  a
progressive house track, and a progressive breakbeat track called “Zero”. Both tracks
were released in 2007 on the US label “Ocean Drive Records”.

Back home in Germany, Shane’s success remained largely unheard. Progress wasn’t
that fast, electronic music developed to a more minimalistic style and DJs here stuck
on  using  vinyl  and  turntables.  Shane  however  was  playing  digitally,  what
internationally seen has already become a standard – but  it still didn’t seem  to work
out in Germany.

The  Asian  scene  fascinated  Shane.  Since  his  first  trip  to  Shanghai  in  2005,  he
couldn’t get rid of the feeling of never having returned from there. And all those Asian
influences  are  still  present  in  all  his  tracks  and  sets, which  are  affected  by  deep-,
trance-, and progressive-house music.

April  of  2007,  Shane  went  to  yet  another  clubtour  through  some  of  China’s  most
influential cities – Shanghai, Shenzhen and Hong Kong.  In a  total of 7  locations,  like
in  the Absolute House  (Shanghai), which  is  one  of China’s  biggest  clubs,  he  once
more  could  prove  his  special  skills.  In  September  2007  there  was  yet  another
clubtour,  where  Shane  has  been  traveling  and  hitting  up  the  hottest  locations  of
China, Hong Kong and Thailand 4 weeks long.

Back  in Germany, Shane always used  the  time between  touring  for working on new
tracks in his studio. All this hard work finally paid off in the end of 2007, when Shane
got  signed  as  an  artist  on  “Bit  Records  Mexico”,  one  of  the  most  influential
progressive labels worldwide.

Pushed by  the success of 2007, Shane decided  to  found his very own  record-label.
“Jetlag Digital” was born in the spring of 2008 and it was raised with lots of love and
care  to  become  one  of  the  only  international  progressive  house  labels  based  in
Germany.

Just while started to establish his label, Shane went on a 3 week-long clubtour to the
USA, where he played in major clubs in Dallas, Austin and San Antonio. Once more,
the tour has been a complete success.

About 3 months after  the establishment of Jetlag Digital, Shane gained support  from
his long-time friend Carsten (Hyline) from Hannover / Germany, who became Jetlag’s
A&R manager. Jetlag Digital’s total balance of 2008 doesn’t only contain the releases
of 28 EP’s and 3 artist albums, all available in over 70 online-stores around the globe,
but also hitting the ranks of the top 100 progressive house international sales charts a
several times.

Today, Shane works as a producer, joined by international well known artists from the
progressive  house  scene  like  DJ  Taucher,  Michael  &  Levan,  Faskil,  Ariel  Curtis,
Oliver Morgenroth, having his tracks and remixes signed at various labels worldwide.

Be  it Melbourne, be  it Shanghai, Shane’s  tracks and  sets  can be heard monthly at
well  known  international  radio  stations.  He  also  host  own  shows  like  his  show
“Continental Fusion” on “DI.FM” New York, or  together with Hyline “Advanced Views
on Friskyradio” in San Francisco, USA.

Even  though originating  from Germany, Shane managed  to claim his place as a DJ
and Producer  in  the  international music scene and has always been able  to show  in
an impressive way how real global dance music works.

Lacandon is the moniker of Georgi Nikolov .He was born in Montana in 1985 . He start his musical path like synth player and singer of hardcore band .in 2001 he left the hardcore and start his path into electronic music.
In 2006 he stand resident of argentian edm radio Adn Alternative (RIP)wheres host the show Lacandon Sessions ,in the same year he gets residency in jenny.fm(Rainning Sessions),Radio Joy (Sunflowers Sessions )Traffic Radio (After Hours Show) and most popullar show Dark Senses on Pure.fm.
His guests are names likes : Federico Monanchesi , Miss Eleana ,Viscid ,Bs As Deep ,PQM ,Michael and Levan , Andy Ef ,Dj Shiva, Pablo Roma,D- Phrag and many others .
Between radio shows and live shows its unfluenced from his musical skills . In 2008 he found Andromeda Records and  there he release his first ep with the moniker “Lacandon “Called Muratti EP ,less time after he release a remix for germanian pop singer Germanica of the track Blue Skies .In the autumn of 2008 he moved to germanian label Jet lag Digital and release there Orient Waves Ep .The ep its succsecfully have been charted in mypromopool.com one of the tracks its reached to number 3 in australlian store dancemusichub.The tittle track Orient Waves have been supported from the store trackitdown.net .
Lacandon made and remix for the ep of Tobbias Hope for the same label .In 2009 Lacandon made a remix for a Swordtail Records of Dj Shadows .ru and Mishakov .In the same  year Lacandon made the ep Moma Robinja with the remixes of Kliment ,Rezo,Maindave,Cj Art ,Oliver Morgenroth .He works and for his 3rd studio album.

Michael & Tabriz, are a couple from Russia, mixing underground sounds and getting the attention of many listeners worldwide.

The “Deepsense” project consists of  two  DJ’s from Kursk City, Russia: Tabriz & Michael Zuckermann.Tabriz (real name Samoylova Elena) was born on July, 25th, 1981 in Oryol City (Russia). All began in the middle of 90’s with serious interest to ethnic, celtic, arabian music and to beautiful female vocals (Lisa Gerrard (Dead Can Dance),Vas, Loreena McKennitt, Elizabeth Fraser …) In the end of 90s, after moving on study in Kursk city, she has met many interesting people & clubbers that has affected and has changed the further development of musical taste. Acquaintance to electronic music has begun with such labels as GU, Perfecto, Bedrock ….later Contrast, Method, Vapour records and any many many more. Every year her taste became more refined, choosing the beautiful, melodious tracks filled with emotions vocals, ethnic vocals and has stopped on deep dark  progressive house music and tribal.
Michael was born on November, 20th 1980 in the Kursk City (Russia). Formation of musical taste ,as well as at many, has begun in the beginning of 90th with known at that time a techno-pop  groups. In the midle of 90th with has taken a great interest in such styles which have appeared in Russia as acid trance,acid techno,hardcore,psy trance for which the have followed first partys,open airs,clubs. In 2003 Michael has decided to test in a dj and the organizer of actions of local scale, prefer styles atmospheric & deep progressive house, progressive breaks.
Sparked by a mutual desire to share the most current and innovative tracks, Tabriz and Michael united at the end of 2007. This dynamic pair brings decades of experience to the table: as promoters, they have organized events ranging from private dance parties to huge electronic music festivals; as DJ’s, they have performed at numerous events, always contributing their unique sound to the dancefloor.
Deepsense are often invited to various radioshows  of the world  and since december 2008 they got residents of  exclusive radioshow “Silk Valleys” from label Silk Digital on waves enSonic Fm(Canada) and since march – residents Pure FM with own radioshow “Horizons”. Although the duo’s taste in electronic music can range from intelligent ,deep progressive house and atmo breaks to dark progressive, Deepsense’s music is always sophisticated and deeply emotional. For this reason, their acclaimed sets have been aptly described as “a unique story, an independent composition – in which one’s inside world and feelings are revealed.”

Stigmata (Rima & Ziad) are a superb mixing duet, well known not only in Lebanon’s underground  music scene, but also worldwide.

Below there are a few words about them:

Ziad Haddad and Rima Taha Aka Stigmata, were born in the city of Beirut – Lebanon . Their interests in music started at the young age of 15 when they start listening to music. They consider this genre as being one of their most important influences into keeping their mind into music. During their teenage years, their music taste expanded to included rock & jazz. On 1999 they met by music passion when they were exposed to electronic sounds, beats and synths. Since then, their passion has been completely towards dance music. In 2002 they start listening to various Dj.. who have strongly influenced their present style such as Moshic, Fady Ferraye,John Digweed, Sasha and Anthony Pappa . By that time they were pretty much hooked to Deep and Dark Progressive, which of course has remained their favorite style…
In 2006 They started playing their own mixes into a private parties and small events…
In 2008 they made their first steps into music radio Shows:

DJ ALEXANDAR | i:FACE Serbia

He was born and raised in the capital city of Serbia, Belgrade. He spent his childhood surrounded by people whose lives where dedicated to music, which was gradually introduced into his life as well. Having finished his primary and secondary music school ( the guitar being his “first love” ), he acquired the basic theoretical knowledge, experience and an acoustic ear. While growing up, he listened to classical music as well as bands such as Depeche Mode, Simply Red, Brian Eno, Leftfield, Mono and many other bands in which you could suspect the beginning of electronic music. This same combination of electronic music and the guitar is responsible for the work he does today.

After many years of listening and absorbing the world Dance scene, Sasha, Deep Dish, John Digweed and Hernan Cattaneo have left the deepest impression on him. In 2003, for the first time he expressed his wish and tried himself out as a DJ.

A few years later he becomes a member of Kinetic Vibe. Today, 2 years later, he performs alone on the music scene, under the name ‘’Alexandar’’. In his career he had worked with names such as Silicone Soul, Federico Epis, Snake Sedrick, James Benitez, Ladytron … He worked in most of the clubs in Belgrade ( EXPO XXI, SKC, Barutana, Plastic….), Serbia, Monte Negro and Croatia. His mixes were the guest mixes in shows on Frisky Radio, Proton Radio and Pure FM. In his sets, Alexandar invests most of his energy, ideas and in his constant contact with the audience, he creates dynamic sets which tend to move them.

By the end of 2007 he took a part of the national DJ competition and won the third place in “TECHNOLOGY – The best DJ annual awards”

Frequent travellings to surrounding countries were the top of 2008 year as the beginning of cooperation with Dubsupliers (Danny Way & Lukka A.) concerning the production plans. First half of 2009 will bring first releases for Dub Records, and also the remixes of the same that will be signed from the leading producers and DJ’s. In this moment, he is working on improvement of production. Very soon, he will start his own show on Frisky radio, where he will represent domestic and foreign producers from all over Europe and all over the world.

N-TCHBL | i:FACE Serbia

Marija Nikolic aka. N-tchbl, born in 1984. in Nis, southern Serbia. Through all of her childhood science and music were the main spots of her world, nothing was that interesting and played more of a role in her life. A teacher in primary school spotted her ability to ‘catch by ear’ and quickly reproduce the solo parts of the songs played on the classes of music education she attended, and soon forced her to start learning piano, but it lasted no longer than a couple of months cuz of the financial inabilities caused by the ’90s atmosphere of the country she lived in. But she continued practicing her playing skills on the musical education classes in school and at home on Yamaha keyboards, oftenly playing piano on school celebrations and ceremonials. Then she fell in love with a guitar, again, easily catching the solos and chords from the songs and playing it with no tabs seen, just with a little help of a ‘catchy ear’. But the guitar has stayed there in the past being only a hoby and a great love, even nowadays.
Then at the end of ’90s she discovered electronic music, thanks to her brother and first rave parties happening in her town at that time. Prodigy and Kraftwerk raised her to the whole new world of something that was not that classical like piano or guitar were at those times. It was a pure inovation in the world of music for her. In the times of revealing the differencies betwen genres, names like Deep Dish, Satoshi Tomiie, John Digweed, Sasha, Dave Seaman and Hernan Cattaneo brought the feeling that progressive house with a soft spots of trance inside was something that suits her the most of all of the music left in this world. Collecting artists and their pieces of that kind, trying to catch every second of it, going to parties to hear how ‘big names’ are doing it live… she fell in love with it like with nothing else before! Progressive house was something she wanted to live… and love.
In 2006th she decided to try herself out at the first ever party of hers in a small underground club called ‘CLub 17’ in her hometown. A couple of parties more of that kind followed in next couple of months and then she stopped, being burdened by university duties and striving to finish those ones first. In march 2007th she hitted Belgrade for the first time, playing 5hrs set in an underground Belgrade clubs Infinity and Biro which was a great expirience, seeing people reacting unexpectedly extatic to the music she played. Being listened then by a couple of capital DJs and getting compliments and pursuasions for going forward and climbing the stairs of being a DJ, she gained confidence and continued doing it.
Not long ago she won the Serbia Uprising! contest on PureFM and was given a chance to present her country together with the most famous DJs, playing deep and dark progressive, the sound that’s making her unique and easily recogniseable amongst the rest of the DJs coming from Serbia. In 2008th she became a part of an “i:FACE Agency”, together with her friends and collegues DJ Alexandar, Federico Epis, Kintar & Rex, Danny Way, Ascaloon, Marko Nikolic etc.
Her music was broadcasted on almost all of the worldwide popular radiostations, amongst other less known tribalmixes.org, frisky radio, danceradio.gr, pure.fm, insomniafm.com, streetfm.com.mk, digitalradio-fr.com, being a guest of many wellknown DJs in this area.
In June 2009th she’s starting her own monthly exclusive project called “Subliminal” on insomniafm.com, to present the whole new side of deep and dark progressive sounds, the female way, progressive sounds that made her fall in love with progressive back in the previous decade and let that sound never be forgotten.

Syle and Sobo (progressive house , dark tribal)

Syle

He was born on January 7th, 1986, in Romania, Bacau. He started the DJ carreer in 2004, after subscribing and winning a mixing contest on a radioshow called: Light Rhythm on Radio Deea. After this he continued to play here and there, and at The Pioneer Dj Contest, same year 2004.
He achieved the same result as before. He was invited to mix at Zebra Club Bacau, a well known local club, back in 2005. Currently he’s organizing parties and playing at different gigs, all across the country. Of course there’s a start made in 2 producing as well, and it won’t be long before I find my way in this section too. He is resident of Khemia Club from Bacau and playing also in a lounge bar from same city.

Sobo

He was born on November , 1984 , in Galati – Romania .
From 2005 , he started to make events and promote electronic music in Romania , most of the events were progressive house parties , with guests like :

- Kintar & Rex , Rick Pier O’neil , Sertac Kaya , Snake Sedrick , DJ Tarkan ,
