About the author

John Weissinger

DJ Weizy whose real name is John got his start in the electronic dance music world as a progressive house DJ in the Sioux Falls, South Dakota rave scene back in 1998. After a couple of years of playing illegal raves and some legitimate events such the annual Bash in the Grass festival Weizy moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota to attend college. He managed to become friends with a handful of the now defunct Mile High Productions DJs such as Kid Icarus, Jack Trash, and Jevne. Through this connection it was not long before Weizy began playing at some of the Mile High events held mainly at the Quest Nightclub. As the years went by Weizy went out on his own and a held a year-long residency at The Refuge in downtown Minneapolis. A short while later Phil Martinez founder and head man at EccentricBeats was kind enough to invite Weizy to join his dj collective. Over the years Weizy's style has morphed into a house-driven sound consisting of some progressive influences, but mainly a strong focus on feel good records that make people move. In his 8 or so years of DJing Weizy has had the privilege of playing alongside such names as Paul Oakenfold, Pete Tong, Donald Glaude, DJ Dan, DJ Tiesto, Max Graham, Luke Fair, Jevne, Thomas Krome, Angel Alanis and many more well known and respected DJs. Watch out for Weizy's monthly podcast The Weekend starting March 2007 as well as Weizy's first productions coming in mid 2007. THANK YOU FOR LISTENING!
